The eldest of two kits born to Valedark and Meadowlark she was a couple of
hundred turns of age when her brother was born. Already a mother herself she had
recognized one of the hunters and they had a daughter of some dozen or so years old. Life
seemed hectic with the human wars but she had her family and that was the most important
thing. Then one day it all changed. There was a ground shake and a rockslide burried a cave
her parents were sheltered in with her kit, the three were lost and though she and her brother
dug and dug there was no hope of finding them alive. In the course of the digging Autumnvale
herself was caught in a cavein and only the efforts of her recognized and her brother
saved her.
Autumnvale's magic was late blooming, Flamedance was already practicing
his power when an accident brought Autumnvale's into notice. She had wondered if
LeafFall's prediction of a power sleeping within her had been wrong. |
