Cantrell mounts SWOOP: Oblivion Skyrazor -- Relentless Pursuit.
Section 1 - Starting Blocks
Each starting block is a clear transparent pneumatic tube. The tubes
seal airtight at the first red light on the starting tree. On the second
red, the swoops are pushed at high speeds well above the stands highest
point. Once the Start Tree shows green the swoops are released from their
pneumatic hold and left to their own descent. There are 3 means down. The
first is a gentle spiral that meanders its way down to the original level.
The second is a half pipe tube that spirals les being much steeper in its
descent. The third method is free fall under the station's artificial
gravity and just hoping the swoop's repulsors are up to the task of
slowing the descent.
Difficulty:
Gentle Spiral - 10m to catch the tube
Steep Spiral - 20m to slow descent, Bonus of 10 SRU
Straight Down - 25m to slow descent, Bonus of 15 SRU

"Ugh this damn suit is chafing me..." Cantrell groans behind
his plated EVA suit while sitting ontop of the Relentless Pursuit, his mighty silver stead.
He lifts up the chrome screen off from his view plate, glancing around the starting area,
catching Danik over next to him. "Kreldin?! I thought you were dead!" He points over towards
Danik.
Ah, yes. Back to the good old swooping. When he decided to retire from the Empire a while
ago he also left behind one of his most precious hobbies. Racing! And he was good at it to, which he was about to prove
to all these wannabe pilots. Clad in a black flight suit that appears similar to that of a TIE pilot, Danik Kreldin does
a last minute check of his swoop that was loaned to him by a good old friend. Satisified with his results, he sat down on
the swoop and started her up, his eyes gazing up at the starting lights, waiting for it to turn green. He thought he heard
his name called, so he turned to see Wescal Cantrell on the starting line next to him. He smirked, waving a hand at the
man. Oh, this would be fun.
Ignoring the other racers Ryshel moves the crimson and white swoop through the airlock and
to the line having made sure the helmet was secured properly given the lack of environment. The Crimson Myst, newly
upgraded, is out for the first run since it was returned to her care just hours before.
The speakers come to life as the announcer for the first of the day's heats makes it known
that there will be three racers this round. "In grade 2 we have Ryshel Quinn racing on the Crimson Myst for Team
Callandor, while in grade 3 we have Wescall Cantrell on the Relentless Pursuit for Team Extreme and Danik Kreldin on
Slipstream racing independantly." Once all the racers are set up in their blocks and ready to go the tree lights begin to
flash: Red Red Red Yellow Yellow Green, "And there they Go!!!" The swoops are dropped down onto the first section of the
track.
And with the green light, the Relentless Pursuit screeches off ahead of everyone.
"Slipstream?!" He looks over at Danik, shrugging his shoulders. He steers the Pursuit over towards the straight down path
in overdrive. Yeehaw.

Success! Piece of cake? Heck yeah it was. The cocky pilot keeps his cool, keeping the
Relentless Pursuit steady as it streaks down the steep path.
Kreldin looked at the start tree, waiting for it to turn green...and when it finally did,
he kicked his swoop into overdrive from the get go, sending the Slipstream and himself out from the starting block and he
is quickly faced with a tough decision -- which way to go. Naturally, Danik being the hot shot and all, he decided to go
straight down, the toughest one of the three.

It was a piece of cake for the Imperial. As the descent neared its end, Kreldin kicked in
the swoop's repulsors, which were good enough to slow him down so he wouldn't crash into the surface and die. With his
swoop in overdrive, he continued on, his eyes glued ahead as he entered the second section.
Not being a showoff or a lunatic like the other two Ryshel comes off the line with a
steady hand and a dose of confidence, but no whooping or flashy moves. The Crimson Myst is directed on the straight down
path along with the other two, but this racer keeps her swoop at full.

That steady hand and quiet control brings the Myst through the challenge of the first
section cleanly heading for the second section unruffled by the flash and show of the men.
"They are off to a great start as Cantrell moves into section 2 with 76 SRUs, Danik
pulling 81 SRUS and Ryshel garnering herself 46 SRUs. Let's see what it is in store for us as they all continue along."
Section 2 - The Nebula
The main central tube climbs up gradually along the perimeter of the
station, winging the track right in front of the spectator stands, giving
them a close view. A sharp hairpin turn is made into a deceiving fog
nebula. In the midst of the nebula there are three routes that can be
taken. The easiest to find drops down out of the fog for a clear-sighted
path though more round about circumnavigating the edge of the nebula. The
second climbs through it till it's high over the nebula for more direct
route, but the fastest path is also the hardest to find. It bears hard to
the left in almost u-turn fashion. This tube continues the radial turn
ducking under the main tube and directly through the nebula. All three
tubes meet back up at the far side of the nebula just in time for a jump
from the tube over an artificially created black hole.
Difficutly:
Down - 10m 15m for Nebula/Jump, Bonus of 5 SRUs
Up - 15m 15m for Nebula/Jump, Bonus of 15 SRUs
U-turn - 25m 15m for Nebula/Jump, Bonus of 20 SRUs
The Relentless Pursuit continues in its path, Cantrell watching his former superior race off ahead
of him. His eyes narrow behind his chromed visor, guiding his swoop towards the 3rd exit in overdrive.

The mist ends up being a little bit too much for Cantrell, the wall ends up being too
close. The swoop brushes hard up against the wall, unfortunately pinning Cantrell's leg up against it. "Awww crap!"
He groans, stopping the swoop to a dead halt.
After his descent, Kreldin was now flying through a tube that would past by the specators.
Although he was moving too fast to see anyone there, he knew that a few old his war buddies were in there, HOPEFULLY
cheering him on. But, now that was the least of his concerns. He was in the middle of a thick fog, and he couldn't see
anything despite the three tubes. He turned to the left, trying to make the u-turn to head down the tube to get him to
the other side of the nebula.

Kreldin made the successful u-turn into the tube, and it was just a simple jump from the
tube over the black hole and he landed in the next tube. But it looked like Cantrell was having a hard time, he noticed
as he passed.
The female racer uses a steady hand and quiet control following the large egos of the
male racers into section two. The Crimson Myst is guided along the course into the u-turn at full speed no sense becoming
wall adornment.

A bit of contact there in the nebula turn! Ryshel and the Crimson Myst scrape past Cantrell
and the Pursuit where they adorn the turn. Control is quickly regained and the jump made easily. No bonus, but under that
helmet there's a smile because she's still racing.
"Well we got a bit of a show there, Folks. Cantrell missed his mark as he manouvred around
the Nebula and as you can see he has opted to end here rather than risk further injuries. For those interested he was up
to 132 SRUs at that point. Danik is moving on to section 3 with 162 SRUs and Ryshel has herself 76 SRUs as she also moves
along after her own minor mishap around the Nebula."
Section 3 - Comet Thisby
Upon landing, the track opens up on its outer side. There is a small
comet that orbits the station rapidly and the racers must time a circuit
of the comet for when it is passing just against the tube to allow entry
upon it. After a short few hundred meters the originating track dead ends.
Some heats time the comet well and others as a group must wait for the
comet to time out right. Once on the Comet Thisby, The racers have a
twisting maze of ice crystal to navigate to get to exodus of the comet
and back on next track tube section.
Difficulty: 15m 10m 10v for Comet, Bonus of (SRM: +roll 2d) SRUs
for the heat
<ROLL> SwoopRaceMan rolls a 8 with 2D. A Poor roll!
Once he touched on on the other side of the track, he saw the comet first, and he
remembered how this played out. He had raced here many times before, it wasn't that hard, like many thought. He would
just have to jump onto the comet with perfect timing, dodge through an ice field, and make it out alive on the other
side. Easy.

The swoop leaped up and landed on the comet. Kreldin didn't even have to stop to wait for
it, he just had good timing. Luck or skill? Most likely the latter. He manuevered his way through the ice field with
little difficulty and made it out to arrive at the next section.
Section three having only one choice is a fairly easy decision for the female racer to
make. Ryshel kicks the Myst up into overdrive and leans into the wind. If she can just make up some of the speed lost in
that last section she'll be content.

An unseen grin marks the face behind the red and white helmet as the comet and the ice
field are cleanly manuevered over and thru by the Myst on the way to the next section. Good timing and luck are always a
swooper's friend.
"Danik knows what he is doing as he moves through the section with ease. He brings 228
SRUs into section 4 with him and Ryshel also eases her way along to bring 126 SRUs into the next part of the track."
Section 4 - Shooting Stars
One of the widest, most open sections this is more a dome than a
tube. A pilot can choose to go straight through the center for the safest
path or to either side to gain more points. On one side is a bank of
cannons sending ion bolts across the expanse of the enclosed dome where
they land on the other side every few meters. It's possible to time it so
that the guns and the target areas can be avoided.
Difficulty:
Center - 15m
Right - 15m 15m for firing cannons, Bonus of 5 SRUs
Left - 15m 20m for ion bolts, Bonus of 15 SRUs
After his run through the comet, he was faced with the dome and three possible paths.
Anyone who knew Danik Kreldin or followed his swooping career would know that he was going to go for the most dangerous
one, and he naturally did. He took the left path, which had ion cannons firing shots at him. The only person he knew to
survive a direct hit with an ion cannon was the former Emperor Valak. And he was no Emperor Valak. He just hoped some of
that Corellian luck held with him a bit more.

Kreldin was able to time everything perfectly, so that when he went through the left tube
none of the ion bolts even came near touching him. He was just good! Or it was the Corellian luck. Who knew. He kept his
swoop in overdrive as he exited the tube and continued on towards the next section.
Section four is taken with the same stoic reguard as the previous sections. Ryshel makes
a decision heading down the left portion of the track keeping the swoop in overdrive. The Corellian woman could use a
little of that family luck her brothers seemed to display in generous portions.

Speeding along the left side of the dome, and low to the swoop Ryshel easily clears the
the section without a single singe from an ion cannon. The Crimson Myst stays on course heading into the fifth section of
track.
"Both our remaining racers continue to move with no apparent difficulty as they swoop on
to section 5. Danik brings with him 312 SRUs while Ryshel has her own 193 SRUs."
Section 5 - The Sucker
Entering this section means sudden death to any racer who forgets to
fasten their breathing apparatus. Of the three tube options, the first
has a single transparisteel panel that encircles the section at the
midpoint. This panel can slide back to reveal the open vacuum of space,
creating a strong sucking wind that sweeps through the tunnel. It is
hoped the swoop is fast enough to avoid being sucked out into space. If
not, there are rescue shuttles waiting to scoop up the floaters and
hopefully their expensive machines as well. Tube two has three such
panels that constantly open and close while tube three has six panels.
Difficulty:
Tube 1 - 15m
Tube 2 - 15m 20m for wind/panels, Bonus of 10 SRUs
Tube 3 - 20m 25m for wind/panels, Bonus of 20 SRUs
Another three tubes, and if Danik remembered correctly, this one was open to space. He
double-checked his breathing apparatus, because he was gonna need it. He took the third tube, with six panels that would
open up and suck him out into space. He had to be very careful, but maybe not careful enough..he was still in overdrive,
which was definitely not recommended for this track. But, hey, he survived it before, he can do it again.

Kreldin flew through the third tube and was successful in making it out alive.
Unfortunately, one of the panels nearby opened up at the wrong time, sucking him back. But, Kreldin was able to break
free and continued on. Hah, he needed a bigger challenge! And then suddenly remembered the last track...
The Crimson Myst is guided into the third tube with a sure hand. Ryshel shifts the swoop
up into overdrive and keeps low to the swoop hoping that Corellian luck from the last section is still with her.

<SKILL> Ryshel rolls a 18 for her GROUND VEHICLE OPERATION skill. A Good roll!
Taking a beating from the wind Ryshel powers the swoop past the panels cleanly. The Myst
rockets out of the tube headed for the last section.
"Oooh, would you look at that. We almost had a reason to send search and rescue out to
find him, but Danik recovered too fast, oh well. He moves on to the final section with 383 SRUs under his belt. Ryshel on
the other hand doesn't seem to be handling the wind very well though she otherwise gets through with 227 SRUs."
Section 6 - Death Star Finish Line
The tubes from the previous section join just in time for the racers
to make split second decisions as the surface of the Death Star looms
close. The first tube goes wide and takes a long path to just avoid the
whole messy situation before crossing the finish line. The second tube
heads you straight for a squadron of X-Wings that swarm you in dog fight
as you make for the finish line. The third tube takes you right to the
surface of the Death Star where Turbo Laser turrets fire on you. Right
before the finish line the Death Star's Superlaser gets off a single shot
at each rider in tube 3 as last attempt to put an end to them.
Difficulty:
Tube 1
Tube 2 - 20m 20m for dogfight, Bonus of 25 SRUs
Tube 3 - 25m 30m for Tubolasers/Superlaser, Bonus of 40 SRUs
Ah...the Death Star. The mighty Death Star. Danik had lived long enough to witness two of
them blow up first hand, which was a huge blow to his morale, but he, like every other Imperial, recovered over time.
Now, he wasn't here to think about the past. He was here to win some credits. He steered towards the third tube, if he
remembered correctly, would take him through a series of turbolasers and the all mighty superlaser.

Kreldin flew through the turbolaser fire with no difficulty, and he hoped that the real
Imperials didn't have that sort of accuracy. And now, the final test, the superlaser. He held his breath as his swoop
flew over the cannon, missing the laser by a long shot.
The faux Death Star can indeed be quite the sight, but one which doesn't phase the female
racer. While Impie man went for tube three Ryshel shot into the second tube at full speed just hoping to finish the race
with the Myst in one piece and herself relatively unharmed.

That squadron of X-wings had nothing on the girl from Corellia. Ryshel stays low and zips
right past them clearing obsticals cleanly and crossing the finish line with self and swoop in one piece.
"Well, no glamour for us as they cross the finish line. Danik completes this heat with 484
SRUs while Ryshel finishes up with 280 SRUs. Join us again later tonight, Folks and we may yet see a real crash!" The
announcers cheers the spectators on and encourages them to return in about an hour for the next heat.
The track has been changed to section 1.
